CMWSSB is responsible for supplying required drinking water with adequate pressure to the consumers. As of now, there is no system to account for the water being filled in the tankers and the number of trips made daily by each tanker could not correctly assessed. Owing to this, lot pilferages is happening, which finally results in non-delivering the water in needy areas.
The capacities of tanker lorries used are predominantly 6000 litres and 9000 litres. There are 41 filling stations with 191 filling posts, where the water filling activities are carried out.

At the filling points, the driver or cleaner of the tanker lorry operates the valve of the filling post, owing to which the actual volume of water filled could not be assessed correctly.
Since the valves are operated manually, there have been many occurrences of contract vehicles undertaking unaccounted trips giving rise to public complaints.
As the trips of contract tanker lorry is maintained manually, the payment is made against volume of tank filled, owing to which tallying of the trips and reconciliation takes lot of time and is not accurate
As the there is no systematic method of filling, Conjested situation of quelling of lorries happens, which gives rooms for unauthorized brokers.
